Financial Literacy in America

Financial literacy has been critically low in the United States, and in 2022, less than 40% of Adults were able to complete a basic financial literacy test. This lack of basic financial knowledge has led to wide reaching consequences like the debt cycle, retirement savings, and wealth inequality. This capstone aims to cover the political landscape and education around financial literacy in the US, and how universal K-12 education financial literacy requirements can be used to strengthen financial literacy in the US from an early age.
