Development

At the Institute for Youth in Policy, fundraising is integral to our mission of educating, engaging, and empowering the next generation of civic change-makers with the tools to analyze, discuss, and influence public policy. The Institute’s Development Team strategically works with communities, alumni, and grantwriting to ensure the financial feasibility of initiatives.

Community Fundraising Initiative

The Community Fundraising Initiative gives alumni and supporters a practical, hands-on way to strengthen YIP’s work. Community Fundraising Coordinators (CFCs) raise funds for the Institute in their own communities. The program is flexible by design, allowing each coordinator to choose activities that fit their skills and network. Together, these efforts build a steady, grassroots base of support that grows over time. Beyond dollars raised, the program strengthens the community around YIP and keeps alumni connected to our mission.

Donor Relations

Beyond grassroots fundraising, the Institute aims to build long-term partnerships with alumni, companies, and mission-aligned organizations. The Development Team works to manage donor relations and is always seeking more opportunities for support-based partnerships. If you or anyone in your network would be interested in supporting the Institute or exploring a potential partnership, please contact the Institute’s Chief Operations Officer at calebk@yipinstitute.org. Individual donations are always welcome and can be made through our donation page.
