Asher Cohen is a student at Columbia University studying Financial Economics and minoring in History and Religion. He has experience in the intersections of public policy, finance, development, civic engagement, and non-profit management. Asher is driven by a passion for building systems, developing new frameworks, and executing them.
At YIP, Asher serves as the Chief Executive Officer, overseeing the strategy, long-term vision, and day-to-day management of the organization. Outside of YIP, Asher has worked for Kent Street, a private equity firm in the industrials sector, served as a Private Equity Summer Intern for Future Standard's Primaries team, founded a civic education organization, conducted research with a Harvard fellow, and worked for local politicians. At Columbia, Asher is a member of three finance clubs (Global Equity Management, TAMID Group, and LendingCore Partners), the Chief of Programming for the Columbia Economic Review, and a tour guide.
