Avery Lind is a student at St. Margaret's Episcopal School with a passion for mental health, neuroscience, and psychology. Through the Institute for Youth in Policy Fellowship, Avery developed legislative research focused on improving early mental health detection for adolescents in the United States. Avery is dedicated to using policy as a tool to better support youth mental health on a national scale.
Capstone Project
This brief examines the historical and systemic barriers to early mental health detection and proposes the implementation of mandatory annual mental health screenings during routine pediatric visits, using validated clinical tools such as the PHQ-A and GAD-7.
