Beeta Barkhordar

Beeta Barkhordar is a student at Mission Viejo High School. She serves as Vice President of her school's Associated Student Body (ASB) and is the varsity captain of the Mission Viejo High School dance team. Beeta is passionate about public policy, civic engagement, and advocating for equitable access to opportunities and resources. Her research focuses on exploring policy-based solutions to societal challenges, particularly those related to healthcare access and public service. In addition to her academic pursuits, Beeta is actively involved in student leadership and community engagement initiatives and plans to utilize public policy and advocacy for positive changes in her community in the future.

Capstone Project

This policy brief examines the causes and impacts of unequal access to healthcare in the United States and discusses potential solutions. The proposed policy recommends expanding Medicaid eligibility nationwide to reduce uninsured rates and improve access to affordable healthcare services. By increasing coverage and reducing financial barriers, this proposal aims to improve health outcomes and promote greater equity in the healthcare system.
