Bhavya is an incoming freshman at the University of Virginia, hoping to double major in Global Studies and Politics, Philosophy, & Law on a pre-law track. Throughout her high school career, she has spent time exploring foreign affairs and immigration policy, engaging in debates, Model UN, and international speech competitions. She has also been involved with various non-profits helping countries across the world in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and conducted a research project during her senior year outlining ethnocentrism and the influence of European standards. Bhavya aims to attend law school, with a focus on human rights/international law, and participate within the UN or other governmental branches on an international scale.

This capstone project directly addresses the relationship between the immigration crisis and the backlog in visa distributions. Many immigrants rely on swiftly receiving a visa in order to enter the country, but the reality is many immigration institutions are experiencing a mass amount of overload.
