Christopher Lee

Christopher Lee is a student at Bishop Gorman High School and serves as a vice president at his school. While apart of the Spring 2024 fellowship, he was awarded Most Creative Capstone and Outstanding Capstone. He serves on the National Speech and Debate Association Student Leadership Council and currently works for Rep. Steven Horsford's campaign as a National Democracy Summer Fellow. He is also the current legislative director for the Nevada chapter of the High School Democrats of America. In his free time he enjoys debating, coding, wrestling, running, and playing various instruments.

Capstone Project

Since several major nations will be holding elections in 2024, the widespread production and propagation of deepfakes also pose an increasing threat to democratic processes worldwide. Deepfakes have also been used to perpetrate crimes, propagate misinformation, and impersonate public figures. The realistic nature of deepfakes gives them the power to influence mass populations of voters through misinformation, bringing to light a very real threat to American Democracy.
