The Cost of Feeding the World: Farm Debt and Mental Health Struggles in Farming Communities
Capstone Project
Many farmers struggle with mental health because of financial pressure, poor access to healthcare, and other systemic barriers that often lead to stress and high suicide rates in rural areas. This policy brief looks at how current laws address these issues and where they fall short. It also suggests ways to expand mental health services, improve healthcare access, and create stronger support systems for farmers.
