The Russian Adoption Ban of 2012
Capstone Project
Grace is a senior at Saint Margaret’s Episcopal School and enjoys spending her time with loved ones, her dogs, singing, playing the piano, and playing lacrosse. Adopted from Russia at just 11 months old by her mother, she was fortunate to join a loving family before the Russian Duma enforced a ban on international adoptions to the United States five years later. This personal experience has driven her advocacy efforts to reverse the adoption ban, aiming to help children in Russia find their forever families. In addition to her advocacy work, she dedicates herself to teaching lacrosse through Leaders4LAX, a non-profit she founded, imparting essential skills such as passion, commitment, teamwork, and leadership to young girls. Grace is eager to enact change in our world and looks forward to what the future holds.
