Hana Saloum

Hana is a student at Mainland Regional High School who is passionate about international affairs, linguistics and advocacy. She is especially interested in the effects of policies on women, and spoke out about related issues in settings such as: Digital4Good panels, The United Nations, and the Children & Screens: Character Matters Conference. Outside of school, she contributes to Pragat Foundation where she serves as the Outreach Director, She's In Office as the Diplomacy Director, and other youth organizations.

Capstone Project

The Western media landscape which spans across children’s cartoons, Hollywood movies, and T.V. shows, has continued to portray Muslims and populations from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) through narrow and stereotypical lenses. The brief will cover how these pervasive media representations have continued to negatively portray these populations and how they can be combated with proper policy implementations.
