Jan De Leon is a student at the University of California, Berkeley, studying Political Science and Public Policy with a concentration in American Politics. As a first-generation Salvadoran American, Jan is driven by a commitment to equity and civic engagement. He has held multiple public service and policy roles, including as a Technology Policy Intern at the Alliance for Citizen Engagement, Political Data Intern at WeVote, Executive Assistant at New Voters, and Intern with Berkeley City Councilmember Cecilia Lunaparra. He has written and published research and commentary on issues ranging from data privacy to climate justice and voter participation. Passionate about ethical governance and youth empowerment, Jan brings both lived experience and professional insight to his advocacy. At Youth In Policy, he hopes to continue shaping meaningful change through his work.
