Katelyn Wong is an artist, writer, and advocate for arts education. Having grown up using art forms such as painting and sculpting as outlets for her emotions, she is fascinated by the intersection between art and its effects on mental health, particularly in children ages K-8. She currently attends Portola High School and is the founder of Confidence2Color, an initiative dedicated to teaching SEL-based art lessons in Orange County, California. Outside of her work in policy and legislation, she enjoys writing for the A&E section of her school newspaper, the Portola Pilot. In her free time, she loves to immerse herself in creating artworks that catch the eye and evoke warm emotions, and has won national awards for several of her pieces. She is also making headway in mastering the perfect sourdough bread recipe.
