Leah Moradi is a junior at Tufts University double majoring in Philosophy and Political Science, where her coursework has centered on political theory, ethics, health policy, and the relationship between democratic institutions and the people they serve. Her academic work spans quantitative political science research, ethical and metaphisycal thought, and policy writing, and she has developed a particular interest in how legislative systems either expand or foreclose access to care. Her policy writing on step therapy reform in Massachusetts, submitted to the Youth in Policy competition, grew directly out of her academic engagement with health policy and her own experience as a Crohn's disease patient navigating insurance barriers. Off campus, Leah is currently interning at the Massachusetts State House and enjoys reading, yoga, and drawing.
