Originally from Seattle, Lilly has been exposed to a wide variety of political perspectives and policy needs in her community. Lilly seeks to empower young people and provide the tools to make their voices heard. Shaped by her time working for youth-driven organizations and time as a coxswain on the UW men’s rowing team, she seeks to uplift those around her and enable everyone to be their best. She carries this experience to YIP, driving impact through strategic thinking and presenting innovative solutions in an evolving space.
Lilly has been interested in politics from the ripe age of four, asking, “when do I get to vote?” to her parents while watching the 2008 presidential election. In the years that followed, Lilly’s passion evolved, and she now seeks to combine her data science education and her studies in public policy to restore trust in American democracy and democratic processes. She seeks to utilize the intersection between politics and data science to create a more transparent political process driven by data and data literacy.
