Lucas Kubovchik

Lucas is from Las Vegas, Nevada studying journalism at Northwestern University. Passionate about bridging polarized communities through conversation, he hopes to become a journalist in the near future. In his free time, you’ll find him reading, hitting the gym, or talking to his cat, Kitty.

Prior to joining YIP, Lucas was a student in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program at Spring Valley High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. His passion for politics and journalism was sparked by his long-standing love for history. He joined YIP after having realized that the course of history is in the hands of today’s youth. As Co-Director of Alumni Relations, he works to create a community within and outside of the Institute that welcomes discourse, encourages diversity, and ensures a world where progress prevails over polarization.
