YIP Fellow
Morielle is a high school student from Baltimore, Maryland. Her policy interests lie in education reform, international relations, environmental activism, and more, as she is passionate about exploring many different policy areas. Morielle is the founder of Just a Teen, an organization that aims to connect and educate between teens from around the world. Outside of Just a Teen, Morielle is involved within her local community and school, including serving as her school’s Student Government president and participating in Model UN. In her free time, Morielle loves reading, writing, performing, and spending time with family and friends.
Capstone Project
Racial inequality and segregation have been omnipresent within the US since its founding. The ratification of the 14th Amendment, passed following the Union victory in the Civil War, established the equal protection clause, ensuring the equal treatment of all citizens. While the Civil Rights Amendments were considered a massive stride for the Civil Rights Movement, they were by no means the nostrum.
