Naomi Duke

Naomi Duke is a student at Midtown High School in Atlanta, Georgia with an interest in law and policy. Through her efforts as a writer and editor for her school newspaper, an attorney on her mock trial team, and a leader for several groups in her community, she is working on becoming more of a change-maker. She hopes to continue these interests in college and in her career.

Improving Literacy Education Across Elementary Schools

Capstone Project

This brief explores the growing difficulties that the world is having with literacy and considers the different causes, notably the COVID-19 pandemic, and effects of that. It then considers different options that may work as a starting point for elementary schools to reinforce reading education and address the issue before it becomes irreversible.
