Nidhi Achanta

Nidhi is a Belk Scholar at Davidson College with a passion for gender justice and economic development. She has experience working in business development and healthcare advocacy in her home state of Arizona working with local and state level legislators over the last four years.

Hoping to pursue a career in law, Nidhi will be studying Economics and Public Policy minoring in Data Science at Davidson College. At YIP, she serves as the Director of Development where she leads grant strategy and funding initiatives to support programming and organizational growth. Over the last four years, Nidhi has worked across policy, advocacy, and development in her home state of Arizona. She has worked with legislators nationally and locally to lobby and write inclusive legislation on gun safety and equitable healthcare access. Beyond government work, she has worked with other youth run organizations like Feminist Generation, Dear Asian Youth, and New Voters to secure equal access to media, civic education, and healthcare. Her work has ranged from fundraising and strategy to coalition-building and public outreach. Rooted in a commitment to systemic equity, Nidhi hopes to continue amplifying underrepresented voices through legal advocacy and cross-sector policy reform.
