The Case for AI Curriculum in Public Schools: Preparing Students for the Future

This project argues that teaching AI in schools is helpful and equips students to become successful thinkers and individuals.
Rishi Raja is a senior at University High School in Irvine, California, with a passion for ethical technology development. He has a strong background in advanced STEM subjects, taking part in many initiatives that connect AI to real-world solutions. As the founder of ABC’s of AI, a nonprofit dedicated to ethical AI education, Rishi advocates for responsible AI standards and has published articles on AI ethics with Los Angeles Times High School Insider. His research experience includes work with CRISPR-Cas9 and a published study on machine-learning diagnostic tools for keratoconus through UCI’s BEAM program. Outside of academics, Rishi is a varsity golfer and pianist. He volunteers extensively, teaching STEM concepts to young learners at Discovery Science Cube, leading chess and math instruction at other organizations, and teaching youth about AI through ABCs of AI. Aspiring to advance their studies in AI and machine learning, Rishi Raja is committed to innovating at the intersection of technology and ethics to create a lasting, positive impact.
