Suraj Shah

Suraj Shah, a student at Beckman High School in Orange County, California, is class president, captain of his school’s debate and mock trial teams, and founder of Debate Discovery Kids (a nonprofit organization that expands access to speech and debate to youth). He’s led civic education efforts, worked on campaigns, researched with public policy think tanks, and performed at Carnegie Hall. He has also published a book, The Case for Plant-Based, which advocates for a healthier, more sustainable, and more compassionate world. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, singing, and going to the beach. Suraj hopes to pursue a future in public service and is currently interested in politics and law.
