Ilayda Gokgoz is a gap year student from Ankara, Turkey, and she intends to major in Government and Political Science and minor in Music next year. She worked as a Global STEM Mentor at The New York Academy of Sciences during her high school years, believing that youth's imagination could go beyond the boundaries they were accustomed to. She is passionate about using her knowledge to create positive change in society. She hopes to continue her mission by pursuing a career in public policy. She is also planning to start her own NGO that focuses on empowering young people. Furthermore, she speaks multiple languages and works as a translator in several countries. She believes that her skillset and experience make her well-suited for a career in public policy, and she is eager to make the impact she desires.
