Anoushka Swaminathan is a student at Carlmont High School. They are passionate about economic and social policy and hope to work in a related field, democratizing policy knowledge. After YIP's Fellowship, they became an Environmental Policy Analyst at YIP, then Rapid Response Policy Analyst and Team Lead, and are currently Co-Vice President of Policy Analysis. Outside of YIP, they are part of the Civic Leaders of America, the Bay Area Youth Climate Summit, DECA, their school's journalism program, the Stanford Deliberative Democracy Lab, and Girls Who Code. They graduated from Coro NorCal's Exploring Leadership fellowship and won the 2023 Congressional App Challenge for their work on personal finance accessibility, which they’ve furthered by founding a personal finance summer camp. Aside from policy, coding, and finance, Anoushka loves creative writing and has been recognized by a few literary publications and competitions. Their favorite band is The Smashing Pumpkins!
